Many companies are in need of Search Engine Optimization or SEO, here in Colorado and elsewhere but it’s not that difficult if you want to do it on your own. What you first need to understand is how search engines work and which are the most important. Not all search engines are a like but for simplicity let’s use Google as our example. Google get’s an estimated 50% of all internet traffic so if you optimize for them you will be doing good.

To optimize your site, get as many backlinks to your site as possible and have good content. One of the best solutions for getting backlinks is to use Web 2.0 sites and Social Bookmark sites. Make sure you use your keyword in the active link so that Google will give you credit for that keyword.

As I mentioned above, please don’t go create links to sites with little or no content. You may get the credit for the backlink but that will only last as long as Google doesn’t notice which will only take time.
