How about putting your business on the front page of google for your main keywords.

If your business hasn’t begun creating videos you’re behind and your competition is taking your spot online. Make sure you create a good informative video that talks about your business and what you provide. Focus on the keywords people are searching for and watch as new visitors come to your site. Many companies are in need of Search Engine Optimization or SEO, here in Colorado and elsewhere but it’s not that difficult if you want to do it on your own. What you first need to understand is how search engines work and which are the most important. Not all search engines are a like but for simplicity let’s use Google as our example. Google get’s an estimated 50% of all internet traffic so if you optimize for them you will be doing good.

To optimize your site, get as many backlinks to your site as possible and have good content. One of the best solutions for getting backlinks is to use Web 2.0 sites and Social Bookmark sites. Make sure you use your keyword in the active link so that Google will give you credit for that keyword.

As I mentioned above, please don’t go create links to sites with little or no content. You may get the credit for the backlink but that will only last as long as Google doesn’t notice which will only take time.

Today I want to talk a little about how to get your struggling website found on the internet. Unfortuately for most business owners they think that just having a website means that “they will come”. Nothing could be further from the truth. Without a plan, nobody is going to find your site. Here is some of what you can do.

Before you get sold on Web Design or some fancy site, make sure you think about your potential customers first. What are they searching for and what words do they use in their search. Go to google keywords tools and find out what people are searching for. Once you know that, create pages about those keywords. If they search for “Wedding Planning” then create pages about “Wedding Planning”. Then makes sure you have inbound links that use that keyword to hyperlink to your site.

Another favorite technique of mine is to use geographic keywords like “Colorado Springs”. If your customers come from a radius of 5 or 10 miles from your business, it makes sense to use “Colorado Springs” in your keywords because then you will be placed higher in Google. Your page should focus on “Wedding Planning in Colorado Springs” if you want to be placed high for that term.
